Failure to re -ITV in march,

Failure to re -ITV in march,

Postby PeteA » Thu Feb 27, 2020 12:43 pm

I've recently ask for advice about scrapping my car in March but am now hesitant about flying to Spain until this Corona virus is cleared.
My car is due it's itv in march, so do I need to alert any agency that it is off road and not being used.
I have planned a holiday in Spain in may and could scrap the car then and would keep the insurance and tax in place.
Do I need to notify anyone that the car will not be ITV'd as it will, hopefully be scrapped in May.
Thanks
Peter

Sorry but that's just bonkers and pandering to the
media driven hysteria!

You don't have to tell anybody about the ITV, you just can't drive the car without it.

If you want to scrap it call one of the breakers, they will take it away and do the paperwork although you may have to cancel the suma yourself, can't remember.

Thanks ano,
That's what I wanted to hear.
I tend to agree with you about a media induced hysteria, following out their elite master's plan to crash and reset the world's economies or indeed a man made cull.
But don't want to discuss this here.

You may get a letter from the DGT telling you that if you don’t renew the ITV the vehicle will be e-registered, but that shouldn’t be an issue if you plan to scrap it.

Have you read this about scrapping your vehicle?...

Many, I mean many, Spanish drive their cars without an ITV and, probably, insurance. Don´t bother telling anybody that it is off the road - they are not interested. Come over when you are ready, call the breaker, or do it now from the UK, and they will come and pick it up - that simple!!

Oh, good. Some advice to someone on how to break the law. Well done. Just hope they don't get stopped by the police when they notice the sticker in the window is out of date.
