Goldcar
Goldcar

Just to let everyone know of my experience with Goldcar. They were very aggressive at trying to sell all the extras when trying to pick up car. They charged 7 euros to my credit card for some reason but since it was only a small amount I decided to forget about it. Took the car back, handed the keys over and told everything was fine so off I went to catch my plane. Surprise, surprise the next day they sent me an email charging me against the credit card lodged with them just under 100 euros for damage to the bumper. I know there was no damage so disputed it and asked for photographic evidence of damage but this has not been forthcoming. I am disputing it through my credit card company and advising the company that I had insurance with of the situation.
Please avoid Goldcar or make sure that you get evidence that car has been signed off before you leave or you could get an unpleasant surprise.

Always get them to sign the car for no damage whilst you are there.

Simple answer, don’t use Goldcar. They are robbers. No amount of photographs, bad reviews, unhappy customers stop them trying it on. Stop using Goldcar!

Hi Gales, I had the exact same problem with them. Took the car back, went off, came home and they stung me for 800 fucking euro’s on an email. I will never ever use them again and tbh there’s nothing you can do unless you take out their insurance. Very direct, no customer service at all, I emailed them and they just came back with of well we have photos to prove it, definitely do the things they said I did but I can’t prove it. Total W**$ers. Everyone, avoid like the plague

I agree with Bakes4112's sentiments but I don't believe the word w****er is worse than F***ing. Personally, I find it repulsive for anyone to use swear words on a family site like this. Sadly, I guess that's the way the world is going.

I've used Goldcar for years and no issue until last year. Got scammed off them with "missing parcel shelf" I focus mostly looking for damage to body, wheels and tyres and didnt notice the shelf was not on the paperwork as missing.
This cost me E400 on my card and fighting with Virgin CC company + covid was a joke and got stung. Gold car would not communicate full stop. Raised incedencias on their site- convoluted and useless.
What I did get back was the payment for hire ,diesel and tax. They always charge the diesel fuel supplement automatically at the desk even though in Goldcars T&Cs its made crystal clear it should only be applied if requested by the customer. Thats a breach so CC was refunded E80.00. Small win.
Couldnt claim my excess insurance either for a mising item as it only covered all damages, breakdowns, lost keys misfuelling, and alien abduction.
But not a missing £300 parcel shelf. Sorry for the long post but i need a rant for all of us they`ve done over with no comeback on their fraudulent business practices.
