Moving from Canada to Spain

We are moving from Canada to Spain. Have dual nationality & EU passports. We will be sending about 20 boxes with household items in them. Can we have them delivered to a friends address in Torrevieja as we want them to arrive before we do. Anyone know how customs clearence works. As I don't want my friend to have to go to too much trouble.
