Provisional Driving License

Provisional Driving License

Postby BritOverseas » Tue Mar 02, 2021 2:03 pm

Now it has been a long time since I have had to do this so bare with me, but do you have to get a provisional license in Spain to take driving lessons?

My Daughter is turning 18 in May and we are getting her lessons/license as a Bday present, so just wondering how it works?

If so, could somebody maybe tell me 'how' to do this?

Also, can anybody recommend a driving lesson company in the area (Rojales), that do lessons in English? I have looked through the forums and the last time somebody asked seemed to be 2015...

Unlike England, in Spain, there are no provisional licences so before you pass your test, the only person you can drive with is your instructor.
The average cost of lessons to get a Spanish driving Licence is about 1500 to 2000 euros

Hi jpeg

Although not questioning your info, who on earth (youngster just starting out, or in general just a normal citizen) can afford 2 grand to get a normal (rather than something like an HGV) driving license??

How much is an average lesson for goodness sake??

Another example here for me though of 'Nanny' stating, why can't a parent teach their child, that is kind of ridiculous... In understand they don't want them tearing about with their teenage mates, but come on..

Any recommendations for a local instructor or school anyway? My Wife and I need to swap out our licenses as well, we couldn't get in before Brexit..

Here in San Fulgencio village they all seem to use Señales driving school in Rojales. Tel 965 0769 19. According to their Facebook page they have a special offer for March with the theory test and 5 practical lessons costing €275. I believe (but maybe someone could confirm) that you need to pass the theory test before starting any driving practice.

It’s certainly not like the UK where my dad taught me to drive. I’ve been advised to allow €1000 + for my daughter to get her license next year.
