Renewing driving licences

Renewing driving licences

Postby Montyswiper » Thu Feb 17, 2022 11:35 am

Morning. Yesterday a friend told me of difficulties he was having renewing his driving licence. Mine is due to be renewed next month and wondered if anyone on the forum had any experience of this.he said it just seemed to be applying to Brits. It is a Spanish licence renewable because of age. Many thanks if you have any details.

Hi what difficulties are you having? I am waiting for my Spanish licence to be returned to me as it runs out this month, I went to the Medical centre in La Siesta and they do all the paperwork for you and new licence should be sent to my house. They issue a 3 month temporary licence to tied you over.

Never had any problem with renewing mine. Clinica La Siesta charges €40 if you are 70 or over and do it all for you including the medical, the photograph and the application. They give you a temporary paper licence until yours comes through by post. The medical is quite extensive, though. Plus an extra €40 if you aren't over 70 which includes the renewal fee (not payable if you are over 70).

Next door neighbour had his done in Rojales. Same price of €40 and did everything for him and it seems the medical (especially for the hearing) isn't quite as intense at La Siesta.

But, no, no problems at all and there are several medical centres that do it for you.
