Yes you can as I’ve done it many times. It’s advisable to get deflectors fir your headlights when in U.K.

Just looked online, it says you can't if your a UK resident

This part.... "you’re visiting and do not plan to live here" would prevent you from driving a spanish registered car in the UK as a UK resident.

We did consider matriculating our car onto Spanish plates but we discovered that we wouldn't be able to drive it in the UK being UK residents with a UK licence.

The UK offers the same deal for Spanish residents who bring their spanish cars to the UK as Spain does for UK residents who bring their UK registered cars to Spain. However, this may change next year

The provision allowing a foreign vehicle to be used temporarily in the UK relies on the individual being a resident in the country that the vehicle is registered in. If you are resident in the UK you would not be able to use a foreign registered vehicle in the UK. You would need to register the vehicle in the UK should you wish to use it in the UK.
