SPANISH HEALTH FORM GLITCH
SPANISH HEALTH FORM GLITCH
by FortunaMag » Wed Aug 25, 2021 5:57 am
We returned to Spain by ferry at the weekend. The spth Spanish health form must be completed within 48 hours of arrival in Spain to declare you have no COVID symptoms. My plan was to complete it before the drive to Portsmouth and print out a hard copy of the QR code (don't trust my mobile). On the last page of our forms we declared no COVID symptoms and selected EU Vaccination certificate (copy of which must be uploaded onto the form) and then pressed SAVE. We then received an error message "CANNOT CONNECT TO SERVER, TRY AGAIN LATER". Went through this several times with same result so we just drove down to Portsmouth without the QR code. At the Brittany ferry check in we were told no QR code meant no travel. I explained the problem and was advised to ask for help at the Brittany ferry desk inside the terminal building. The first guy had no idea what the problem was and told us to try again. Same problem and return home looking unlikely. Finally went back to the desk and explained the problem to a young woman behind the desk. She opened some file and advised us there was a known glitch in the spth form and that I should select OTHER rather than EU Vaccination Certificate. Make no sense but I tried it and it worked after which we checked in and had a trouble free remainder of our return journey. Find it unbelievable why the Spanish Authorities have not resolved this problem or why they have not advised the public. Brittany ferries are also at fault here for not advising their customers regarding this known glitch in the system. Hope this info is of use to someone out there.

Thanks , hoping to to use the ferry in The next couple of weeks the 48 hrs doesn’t give a lot of time to sort things if there is a problem!

We must have been on the same ferry last weekend'. Prior to the drive from Scotland we were becoming twitchy when the website would not let us download our vaccination certs. After many failed attempts in desperation we pressed 'other' and it asked for the details on our certs and then gave us the QR codes.

It’s now 72 hours before arrival, they changed it in July! Have a safe trip

Just to reiterate the form can only be signed within 48 hours of arrival in Spain.
Following is an excerpt from spth website today:
Complete your FCS form and get your QR Code
How do I create an FCS form to travel to Spain?
When you are going to travel to Spain from another country, you will have to create, fill in the details of the FCS form associated with your trip, and have the QR Code that you will obtain after closing your form.
Get your FCS from the SPTH portal or from the SPTH mobile app.
Once you have completed it correctly, you can sign it (from 48 hours before your arrival in Spain) and obtain your QR Code associated with your trip.

Apologies, Fortunamag is absolutely correct. It’s the PCR test for entry to Spain that’s been changed to 72 hours, not the form. I’ve confused this with the health form.

Thank you for the information but I am curious to know how I would upload the vaccination certificate. We are in UK at the moment getting ferry back on 14 Sept. I know we have to press OTHER but would still like to know. Thank you
