As I said above, the road towards Alicante from Madrid did not have any speed signs.I was travelling in heavy traffic, doing the same speed as all the other vehicles on the road! I still got fined! I wonder if all the Spanish vehicles on the same road also got fined?

I don't know if the Spanish favour Spanish reg cars or not but sounds it little paranoid.

I not complaining about the fine we didn't think my husband was speeding as thought we were doing about 70 but apparently it was on a part that changed to 60 but only just found that out we were keeping up with the flow of the traffic other cars were overtaking us as we commented on it. Usually get beeped at for going to slow so this is a 1st for him just wanted to know how to pay thanks for all your comments everyone and shall try post office in rojales first if not the bank

Hi, Vixen 14 that's normally where they sit and wait just after a speed change, on the ticket it should tell you where you can pay normally specific banks and online. At least your husband wasn't doing any more or he would have had points taken away if he has a Spanish license. If he has a Spanish license he has 30 days to pay plus its half price, makes a difference when you get fined 300 euros and lose 2 points I speak from experience was keeping up with an ambulance at the time he didn't get pulled but I did not fair.

Remember to keep those eyes peeled.

Yes keep those eyes peeled................on your speedometer!! Biggest mistake motorists make is matching the speed of the vehicles in front of them. It doesn't matter if a gap opens up in front of you and motorists are honking their horns and passing you, keep to the designated speed of the road. No speed signs on the road, then reduce your speed until you see a sign? It's no different to driving in the UK, streetlights generally mean 30mph ( 48 km), so adjust your speed accordingly. To be brutally honest, reduction of speed, gives the child that you have just hit a better chance of survival, whichever country you are driving in.
