UK driving licence licence exchange to Spanish

Hi. I now have my TIE. I have been quoted some ridiculous prices for third parties to assist me in transferring my licence to a Spanish one. Is it really that complicated? I just have no idea where to start. Any information or advice will be greatly received. Thanks.

On a google search this article came up with very clear information on what you need. The link in the article for the Cita Previa/appointment diesn't work so I have included a correct link. The health check referred to can be taken at several Clinics in the area.

Craig at Oneway Services charges 130 euros and does it all for you. His no. Is 966 71 65 40. If you call him best to do it in the afternoon as they are normally in Alicante in the mornings dealing with licences and TIEs.

La Siesta clinic are doing ours. It was 85 euros each. They speak English and its easy to find and park.

If you can do it yourself, it's easy, you need a wee bit of Spanish though. Just go on to DGT website and make appointment for Elche office ( cita de intercambio de licencia). Costs about €27 and took about 5 weeks. Go up and collect.

Obviously you'll need your medical approved beforehand.

Over 65 years old do not need an appointment at the Elche GGT office
