Postby Martin the artist » Tue Apr 05, 2016 12:07 pm

Unfortunately on the middle day of the arts festival weekend at the Rojales caves, or I would definitely go to this..
Celebrating the International day of dance and wth some great dance groups participating including Sofia Sanchez from Rojales - 2nd best in Spain - Carmen Lorente from Montesinos, & others from Alicante, Callosa & Guardamar, tickets go on sale from today at the cultural centre at 5€ each.

I just wish they would say what kind of dance it is. Is it all flamenco?, or is there pop? breakdancing?, ballroom, jive, latin..?

..I don`t want to go if all the night it`s some kind of dance I dislike.

. Too little info I am afraid

Best way to get there is the road from Rojales that goes from near the police station and is signed for the water park.
As you go up the hill its a sharp left back signed 'Cuevas del Rodeo' & collegio (primary school.
And here's a link to directions, map etc: http://www.costaart.net/caves.html

All types & ages I expect.
They usually start with the younger dancers and street dance etc., but progress through ballet to more Spanish dances.

Should say first Sunday of the month, because that's when they have their monthly 'arts encounters' with most caves open, lots of market stalls, workshops for kids, etc. from 11am to 2.30pm.
BUT in July, August & September the market changes to 2nd Saturday evening from 7.30pm (when it's cooler).
Also during season - July & Aug - Friday night is music night with live music - usually jazz - outside the bar cave from 10pm to midnight.
(And of course its free :))

FI The Sofia Sanchez school from Rojales that'll be taking part in the gala, have been in Madrid this weekend for national dance championships where they have again won 2nd place in the senior flamenco section!
So I expect they'll be performing some of that routine on this night! :)
