Does anybody know the reason why a whole avenue of beautiful trees have been CHOPPED down on Lo Crispin opposite the exercise and children's play area, being the derelict buildings

Could be that they were infected with the Red Palm Weevil. It destroys the tree from the inside.

Maybe something to do with proposed development of unused commercial centre?
