(A few changes this year that the charanga fun carnival parade will be the Saturday before the Mooors & Christians parades (instead of the Friday immediately prior) and the hoguera will be built by the Queen Sofia bridge (not near Mercadono as before) with the carrefoc (fire run) going from the church to it.

Any dates yet for Quesada?

Many thanks, MARTIN. This is fantastico - we arrived here after the last one (3 years ago), so this is our first!

Parades on July 2nd and July 3rd are the key events from a spectator view.

Any other recommendations? Firstly during the day? Secondly, during the evening?

Next Sunday 12th from around 11.30am, is the 'chupinazo' when anyone can take part in a large water battle - they even pass out free water pistols - and they even suggest you come in swimwear.

Then the mayor arrives and hands out free traditional straw sunhats & there is a stall giving out free beer!

The mayor then goes onto the balcony of the museum and lights the 'chupinazo' - or large rocket . and people fire confetti canons, the music pumps up and the mayor throws out some giant beach balls.


When things quieten down a bit, people progress to the river bank to watch a grand 'mascleta' - daytime fireworks - at 2pm which is set off opposite in the Malecon del Soto park, and the fiestas are officially open.

Anyone know the dates the fair will be in Rojales and opening time for the fun fair ? (Rides and such)

I'm surprised that they haven't started erecting the funfair yet, but looks likely they'll start in next day or two in the same location as they were last year - opposite side of river to the weekly market ground, by the school - as they were busy putting up fiesta lights there today and looks like the ground is prepared.
