We moved to Ciudad Quesada last August and it's the best decision we made! We have this house now for about 9 years but 2 years ago, we decided to put our house in the UK on the market and move here permanently. However, we are lucky that Ciudad Quesada is catered for English expats and therefore no shortage of English bars here. Almoradi on the hand is still very Spanish and I'm not sure if there's any English bar there. However, our friends live there and I can try and find out for you. I'm learning Spanish at an academy in Benijofar and it's really good. An hour costs €5 and we attend the class twice a week. It's conversational Spanish so if you are looking for a more formal skill, Berlingua in Dona Pepa might be more suitable. It's more intensive but pricey. Hope this helps and good luck with your new life here.

Check your local ayuntamiento/town hall. A lot of them give out either free or really cheap lessons (the one I'm taking is 15e for three months
Also, sign up for the intercambio (it's like a language exchange) in rojales. Even though you live in almoradi, you can still do it. It might take a week or two to find a partner, but it's a good way to learn Spanish

Hi, do you rent a house or did you buy? I am asking as we are moving over soon and I have 3 dogs, I was just wondering if there are rentals that allow dogs?

we are renting not much choice at all am afraid for unfurnished and dogs we were in a hurry as we had holiday let for 2 weeks but ended up here 3 1/2 weeks, we reserved one but lost our money as agent was rushing us to reserve as implied it would be gone but that was not true so dont be hasty, but we found another we preferred smaller and unfurnished and cheaper but beware unfurnished sometimes means bare, we have to put lights in and shower rails and curtains as just bare wires from ceiling but house is brand new, there are probaly quite a few holiday rentals that allow dogs but finding unfurnished as well is a problem as we wanted to bring our own furniture

The booking club on Calle Mayor is where quite a few English meet up and also there are 2 0r 3 charity shops mostly ran by English people.
