All things Flights, Baggage and Airports?

How about a separate section to discuss all things Flights, airports and baggage allowance?
The new Easyjet rules for cabin baggage sizes are a pain especially if you have bought an international standard cabin bag. Seems a bit cynical that they have gone slightly smaller than this.
Currently my favourite budget are jet2.com much better than the competition and streets ahead in the baggage department. You can pay for up to 3 X 22KG bags per passenger (should you need them) without getting totally ripped off.
Tim.

Re: Free to take childrens car seats on easyjet

Hi All
just in case you guys didn't know about this?
You can take your children's car seats on easy jet free of charge. You can in fact take two items per child free, so that could be one buggy and one car seat if you like.
We got a nice surprise with this as we need two car seats and at 6 euros per day hire charge per seat, for 18 days, we saved 216 euros, not to be sniffed at. These items just go in the hold once you get to the airport.
Also you can actually take the car seats on board the flight and strap the children in if you wish ( we are not bothering with that)
We went to our local airport in Newcastle to check this out and the guy from easy jet confirmed this was correct and explained they have lots of passengers double checking this facility as it seems to good to be true, but it is true. ( for now at least)
We normally fly with jet2 so it was indeed a fluke that we just stumbled upon this !
hope this helps
happy holidays
Dee

I usually fly Easyjet - although I'll have to travel further to the airport this time around as Easyjet has pulled out of the Stansted/Alicante route. I was told that you could still take the original size case, with Easyjet, but that they would put it in the hold for free. Every time I have booked in in the past they have offered to put my hand luggage in the hold for free. I think that so many people have "blocked" the overhead lockers with trolley like cases, that it has become a bit of a nightmare trying to squeeze them in - and very time consuming!

I have standard sized trolly bags, there is an international standard size which allows three rolly bags to easily fit side by side in each overhead locker. With space to put coats and handbags on top. I fly between 50 and 80 times a year and have no problem with any other airline with my bag. Easyjet have very slightly undercut this size, having said that i have used them twice since the new rules came in and have had no problems getting my bag onboard, the last flight was veery full and people were obviously flaunting the rules with some very bulky bags. I am all for regulating the size of luggage going onboard but why confuse the issue by going slightly smaller than the agreed sizes as used by other airlines.
Tim.
P.S. i have only recently used easyjet and am otherwise very impressed with their service.
