Not at all. Please don't think I was getting at the Scots as I wasn't. I did mention the bars open at airports at 5 in the morning and that was in Birmingham. I have seen the "stag and hen" disruption from a little place like East Midlands. The problems are not a Scottish one at all. As I said, this should be an airport and airline problem who make booze available at that time and then continue to serve it on the early morning planes.
It can happen at any airport, on any airline. It's just that Glasgow was the one that thought bouncers would be a good idea. Maybe other airports "south of the border" could take on what I think is an excellent idea.
Yobbism is not a country or area specific problem.

On a slightly different but relevant point...I believe that the Binge drinking culture is to blame though and is mostly specific to UK young people, in all areas, and will not be addressed by minimum pricing. Youngsters don't generally care what they pay when they go out for a drink - It only 'hurts' us moderate sensible drinkers.
Soap box moment. Sorry!

Marcliff I posted before reading the relevant articles ,which I should have done.
I do agree with you it's becoming a serious issue and action needs to be taken to eradicate the problem.

Yes. I use Prestwick all the time and never see bouncers or trouble .. So far... Maybe they should stop selling it on the flights.

It's generally before the flights that some people 'tank' up..not to tar all of them with the same brush but it can be groups of stag/hen parties or just groups of young lads and the drink on the flights are more expensive so they tend to drink before! Although saying that It's only now and again that I have seen any kind of trouble (disturbance rather than real trouble I suppose but it's not nice!).

I fly Ryanair all the time, from Germany to Stanstead and back, and in June to Alicante and back to Germany. I have never had a problem with them.
In fact they were kind enough to still let me board my London flight when I was horribly late due to a traffic jam on the Freeway in Germany. I got to the Airport Terminal only a few minutes before take-off, and the ground crew radioed them to wait for to get through security and passport control.
Sure it's not a fancy airline, but they are the cheapest on the route I have to fly. Easy Jet is not an option as they don't fly from near here.
And after the hassles my (grown up) kids and their friends had with Easy Jet in June, when flying back from Alicante to London, I would hesitate to fly with them!
Their evening flight was initially delayed for 3 hours, then it turned into the night, at 6am in the morning Easy Jet organised rooms for them, but they separated the group, not even informing them where everyone went, so of course the one lot was panicked about where the other lot were.
Then they were told to be back at the Airport at 9am, so they never really slept as they only got to the Hotel a couple of hours earlier. They arrived back at the Airport and once again they were told the flight is still delayed, now almost a day had passed with none of them having slept and they also didn't have any Euros left to get food and drink! And on top of it, half of the group was not at the airport!! Of course that caused even more worry, as by now Mobile batteries were flat and no one could call anyone! Turns out the one group managed to get onto a flight to London earlier that day.
May daughter was quite traumatised, mainly as she was so tired and really not feeling well after sitting in the heat. They did all put claims in with Easy Jet, but my son has only now been paid out and I am not sure what success the others have had.
So I stick with Ryanair...
