Are Pine trees on private property protected?

Are Pine trees on private property protected?

Postby Jan » Sun Mar 08, 2015 12:42 pm

We have had a question on one of our other forums which covers other areas of the Costa Blanca and, as it's just starting up and doesn't have the member base we have on TalkQuesada yet, I thought I would try to get an answer on here - We would appreciate any thoughts or help on this:

We are in the process of buying a property near Moraira that has a lot of pine trees that cut out the light and are very close to the neighbouring property. I know they are protected but does anyone know what can be done legally to prune or remove them. We are happy to have trees - just not that size and quantity

I thought it was only fruiting palms that were protected but could be wrong.

Interesting! Maybe others know if that's the case.

The original post says 'Pine' trees and not 'Palm' trees.
Crossed lines here?

Hi,

I´ve heard that Pine trees are protected, the best plan is to ask at your local town hall or you could do the Spanish thing and just cut them down.
