Bone meal

Bone meal

Postby Samanthajue » Mon Jul 18, 2016 9:07 am

i am new to gardening in Spain and this year we have planted vegetables with varying degrees of success and failure. Notably the peas, beans, courgettes and squash initially came up well then the leaves started to turn yellow and go crispy, then the plants died off completely. I have tried using a general fertiliser to no avail. Could it be a lack of calcium in the soil? Any help would be appreciated.

Some of the free papers have a Gardening Section. Try Emailing them. The Spanish do like their muck spreading. Hence the smell but everything seems to grow well.
There are Gardening in Spain books. A wealth of information. I learnt a lot from them.
