bougainvillea

Hi all,

Would anyone know how we could kill off the stump on our bougainvillea.

We are unable to maintain it and although we are down to the stump each time we visit it has to be cut back to enable entry to the house.

I know they are lovely to look at but dangerous spikes when unable to control.

I had the same problem so I cut level with the ground and drilled a large hole in the centre of stump and filled with Sodium Chlorate no more growth

Where would we buy sodium chlorate? Is it easily available.

Just found out sodium chlorate banned by the EU! So any further info would be appreciated on how to get rid of bougainvillea

we bought some stuff to kill the roots of a Bird of Paradise as it was impossible to dig them out. I think it was in the first Garden Centre on the left as you go to Los Montesinos. It wasn't cheap but worked.
