Coackroaches Again !!

Had a lot of useful hints and ideas regarding last summers' " Unwanted visitors ". But still tearing my hair out. 7 today in my downstairs bathroom. Can anyone recommend a specialist local to Lo Crispin. Thanks in anticipation. Maggie

Have the drains been cleaned and sprayed for cockroaches? It helps tremendously. If you are on a community they should be getting it done if not worth considering getting it done yourself it is not that expensive.

Sorry to hear about your cockroach problem - they're not nice.

I live on Lo Crispin and we've had our drains done recently, and fortunately have no problems.

Has your community arranged for drains to be sprayed - we saw several contractor vans working around the estate when our drains were done. If not, it may be worth asking the president if this could be done for you and your neighbours.

Thank you Mary and Deb. Yes our drains were treated within the last month or so but our monthly newsletter from the president does say in some parts there does seem to be more of them about this year. Yes it's Spain and it's hot but nothing worse than having them crawling around your feet in the middle of the night! Maggie x

Yes...nothing worse! I assume you have sprayed Oro around all exits/entrances and around air-con units & vents plus anywhere you have seen the cockroaches. Hopefully you may then only find dead ones..not nice but not as bad a live ones.
Our neighbours who live there all seem to spray around the outside of their properties, the idea being that they genetally have to crawl from the outside to get inside and by the time they are inside they will be dying.
Hope you can find out where they are getting in and stop them. It must be horrid....I can't bear the thought of them
I know we have to get used to the odd one or two being in a hot country but I'd rather not!
Our Spanish neighbours laugh at us Brits being squeamish about them and say they just live with them as they are just part of life and no problem....but no thank you!

Thanks Jan for comment. They are only in the downstairs bathroom and have done all the sprays etc. And since my earlier post have got 2 more. Need a professional I think now x

Do you cover the drains and overflows? I cover everything.

Yes Dot we do. Running out of ideas now.

You also need screens on doors windows etc as you also get flying roaches also, they just fly in?

Do you have a washer where they are if so check that the waste water pipe is firmly pushed in and sealed also get some Borasic Acid from Pharmacy and put 5 heaped tablespoons in 1 gallon of hot water and wash the whole area with it leave to dry do not mop up it will kill any cockroach and be carried back to the nest
