Does anyone know of a cheap way of killing weeds?

Does anyone know of a cheap way of killing weeds?

Postby KennyIrvine2 » Thu Dec 04, 2014 10:55 am

I have a large garden which has suddenly sprouted lots of weeds after the recent rain!

Does anyone know of a cheap, cost effective way of killing weeds rather than me having to spend days on my knees manually pulling out weeds? It's a soul destroying job!!!

Thanks

Yes we had the same I used a great weed killer when I can find it I will post but eventually had the whole area concreted tiled and tiled by the boys from Don Aluminio Reformations, no way can any weeds get through we now just have a few pots which are easy to maintain if you are not here al the time just plant succulents.

We have a 500m plot and have two sides planted and gravelled. We had 6 tons of yellow gravel delivered and topped up what was already there. Now we get virtually no weeds as the gravel is so deep they cant get down to the soil. The occasional washingtonia seedling is soon spotted and dispatched!

Hi been there got very sore knees plus backache and a drained wallet, I tried most of the Spanish and English weed killers, lucky if they last a season, I posed the same question some years ago , may have been on this forum I'm not sure, but the answer I got was "SALT" so I purchased some swimming pool salt and spread it around affected arias keeping away from plants that I wanted to stay alive, success , no weeds since and a very cheap form of weed killer, water it down after you have spread it around.I hope you have the success I have had.

Hello, I have used white wine vinegar, just pour or spray it on the weeds, and in a few days you will see the result. Its cheap and I hope this helps.
