Green Waste

Green Waste

Postby avoncliffe » Sun Jul 31, 2016 4:55 pm

Hi All

Just moved into a property on Friday and we have had to do some major cutting of a bush to get the gate open!!

In the UK I would just bundle up these branches and cart them off to the recycling centre but what do I do in Quesada.

How best to rid of them, along with a broken concrete bench?

Thanks
Geoff

You need a permit from either the town hall in Rojales or the municipal town hall in the centre of Quesada. Just show your padron and they will give you a permit. You can then take it to the recycling centre just up from the water park.
Not sure about the bench, though. They do collect large items on Thursdays if you ring them and leave it by the green bins.

We have visited the recycling center Marcliff speaks of a few times. Never been asked for a permit, although the staff weren't exactly welcoming! As with British recycling centers they take pretty much anything. Keeps Spanish hours though!

They may have changed it, then, but a few years ago they wouldn't let you use the centre without a residents permit as loads of gardeners were using it. I still show mine when taking stuff up there.
