Processionary Caterpillars

Processionary Caterpillars

Postby shelzbelz » Thu Feb 09, 2017 10:40 pm

Just a heads up as I don't know how many of you are on Facebook.

But some sicko encaptured a massive amount of processionary caterpillars in a net and wrapped them in meat earlier today and tied it to tree by the social club by Quesada.

That's all the information that was given I don't know the name of the club I'm only presuming it's behind the QCC.

A 12 year old Labrador was unfortunately struck by the caterpillars and has serious injuries fortunately the Lab will survive but has undergone surgery.

PLEASE TAKE CARE WHEN WALKING YOUR DOGS AS I DO NOT KNOW WHETHER ANY LOCAL COUNCIL WAS CALLED TO GET RID OF THEM.

The sick b******s of this world never ceases to amaze me..should be strung up and quartered

I often jokingly say 'if you had half a brain you'd be dangerous' with friends, etc but in this case people who do things like this don't even need a brain to be dangerous. I don't understand what goes through some peoples minds sometimes. They must realise what the consequences of their actions may be!! :(

Yes English Rose you would think so but some people just don't care about the consequences and it's not just the poor dog that's in pain and stress but the owner as well.

I also think of the strays who have no guidance of where to go and not to go who will come into contact with these eventually and unfortunately will probably die of its symptoms such a shame

That was originally posted way back in February '15.

Whereas I agree that it was an 'alleged' irresponsible act, I think it no less irresponsible to post it now, as if it were a current threat.

Donduo, I only saw this on Facebook yesterday so posted it on here to make people aware.

If I'd of had any idea that this was posted way back in Feb 15 I wouldn't of posted it again! I am not that SICK!!! Or irresponsible thank you.

And in future if I do come across an influx of these insects whilst walking my dog in Quesada or anywhere else rest assured i will not post anything on here to let people know just to keep you the happy chap you are...not

Hi shelzbelz,

You can't be blamed at all for posting this with all good intentions as I also saw it on a couple of other social media platforms yesterday including Facebook. It's a well known problem with social media that news whether true, fake or out of date travels very fast due to the nature of social platforms.

If you or anyone else would like this topic removed as the warning isn't up to date please let me know.

I personally think it should remain as a reminder of what did happen and could happen and therefore remaining a current risk. Unfortunately we are all busy with our lives and we tend to relax once we think the risk has passed so reminders in my mind, no matter how old or outdated, can only be a positive thing.
