does anybody know the history of the Rojales allotments and why they are not available and in such terrible condition

I remember seeing them - huerta urbano behind the industrial estate - being built 3 or 4 years ago & some are in use, but many aren't.
I'm surprised if they say they are not available... Have you asked at the town hall about them?

Hi the last I saw was that they were being offered free to anyone who was resident as no one wanted to pay for them that was around two years ago I think as Martin says town hall should have all the info.

The place looks so run down, more like a bomb site. There should be a concerted effort by the town hall to clean them up and offer them at a low annual rental just to get them productive which, I presume, was the original intention

I guess if no-one took up the offer of renting as scubydoo suggests, then there is no money to keep them weeded etc.
And if they are now offering them free, it would then be up to the users to form some sort of volunteer allotments association to keep them clean themslves perhaps.
