All the garden centres around sell rose bushes. If you ask them, they will give you tips on what the best compost or feed for them is. Quite a few houses in our area with some hardy looking rose bushes growing well all year round.
Most of the ones here would, I am sure, thrive in full sun, or they seem to.

Roses grow very well here ...was very surprised how well they grow given the dry soil.the selection of roses are nowhere near as good as England but have found a good selection at garden centres.

Roses love this climate and will grow and flower all year. However as a keen rose grower/lover, I Prune my roses 'slightly' twice a year (June & September) and in February I cut them right back. Some are in the ground and some in large pots. I feed them with multi feed one a month April to Late October and then once during the winter months I also feed them about a week/10days or so after cutting them right back. I've been here for nine years and they flower every year. Ramblers don't do quite so well here, they tend to be spindly. Hope this helps.

Yes Spikeyhair

Interesting your comment about ramblers as that was are original thought to cover a wall.

Any thoughts on which are the best local (Quesada) garden centre for buying roses in March/April

Valentinas (not sure that's how you spell it).....as you turn off CV 905 to go towards Los Montesinos, you will see them just down a bit on the left. They speak English. Also Almoradi Market on a Saturday. I am not 100% sure about the time of year but the garden centre will put you right. They will also be able to tell you which Spanish plants grow up/over walls.
