Any advice for buying a property and living in Catral?

Is there still a problem with purchasing property in Catral regarding the illegal properties? Also is there a mosquito problem? Looking at properties there and then found these two stumbling blocks on the web. Thanks

If you want a country town then try Crevillent which has every facility including the best health service, train station, including one for the new AVE - access to Europe on your doorstep, etc.

Why would you want to buy in Catral when you know there are many problems there especially with illegal builds.
You will be a long way from the seafront which is surely part of the reason to come to the Costa Blanca.
My advice would be, don't do it.
