Bank charges advice

Bank charges advice

Postby 1cupoftea » Sun Apr 11, 2021 9:35 pm

Hello, new to this page,
I have been reading some of the discussions about non residents bank charges. We are currently going through the property process. We have no mortgage, so do we really need a bank account, after our property has been paid for. Wouldn’t it better more economical to go through a currency converter or by direct debit from an Uk Bank account?
Regards and keep safe.

Not so sure about direct debits from a UK account, but if you use Wise you can convert your sterling to euros, set up your direct debits, use their card to make payments wherever possible, and you can withdraw around €230 cash for free each month.

They were asking about after they've completed the purchase. You don't need one either by the sound of it. Look at Wise: https://wise.com/gb/multi-currency-acco ... ng-started
