New in Lo Crispin

New in Lo Crispin

Postby Marco » Mon Jul 04, 2022 11:37 am

Hello.
We are coming for the first time to the purchased property in Lo Crispoin. I would like to ask what you recommend to do during the first visit.
I definitely want to change the door locks.
We are buying through a real estate agency, and we should have secured help with the energy transfer from them.
Thanks for any advice.

When you purchase a property in Spain your solicitor, checks that there are no outstanding debts on the property and then will transfer the electric, water, Suma and community fees into your name. They will have set up new direct debits on your behalf
Normally the only thing you will need to sort out is your internet connection and tv packages.
Try looking at Zoco market on a Sunday for your tv package, it’s only a couple of minutes drive away.
For lock changing I’d highly recommend Dave Beck as he’ll also do a security check for you..

Don’t be in too much of a rush to replace any furniture, try and live with it for a while. What style works in your U.K. house, probably won’t feel right here.
If you need anything you’ll be sure to find it in a chino as they stock absolutely everything. There’s a lovely big one just before Mercadona on the road to Benijófar.
Any decorating or repairs that need doing, leave until the weather cools down in September.
You’ll obviously have transport so just drive around and get to know the area and you’ll find lots of new bars, restaurants, shops and beaches.
But, most of all enjoy your new house in the sunshine.

Yes, I know, we were already there during the selection process. I was just wondering if getting a bike is a good idea. Is it possible to get to the sea via the cycle path?

You can cycle along the banks of the Segura to the coast which is a lovely ride or a more direct route would be along the lemon tree market road although I'm not sure how far they have got with the cycle path yet, we usually go along the Av. Regantes which is also a very pleasant ride. There is also a cycle path all the way into Torrevieja and from there you can cycle for miles along the coast. Watch out for the wind direction though, it can be much harder cycling against the wind if it's blowing hard! Have fun
