Non-resident property tax

Non-resident property tax

Postby ScottCummings » Tue Apr 12, 2022 11:03 am

Hi, I used Sun Lawyers to originally purchase our apartment back in 2019 and I've received an email from them saying I haven't paid any non-resident property tax and that i am due for for the past few years, plus fines for late payment, plus their extortionate fees.

I have no paperwork which relates to non-resident property tax so don't know who to contact directly or any reference numbers. From search the internet I would need to find...

Cadastral reference
Cadastral Value
IBI

I've asked Sun Lawyers multiple times for more info but they have gone quiet. Maybe hoping that I will just say go ahead and do it through them.

Any advice on how I can locate the above for my property or who to contact to see what I am actually due and how to pay.

Thanks, Scott

The cadastral details are on your IBI receipt. If you've not been paying that either I suggest you 'bite the bullet' and let Sun Lawyers sort it all out for you before the penalties and interest increase any more. After that you can shop around for another accountant or learn how to do it yourself if you are so inclined.

How would they know you haven't paid N?R Tax?

When my neighbours had a problem like this it was a frozen bank account that warned them something was up.
