Planning Consent for Extension

Planning Consent for Extension

Postby El Oso » Wed Nov 21, 2012 3:26 pm

Hi, wonder if anyone can help?
I am thinking of extending a Blue Top on Marquesa 2, Quesada. What permissions will I need from Town Hall and my Community? Is there a particular size you can build without requiring permission?
Would appreciate any advice.
Thanks

Possibly a large manilla envelope filled with used notes. Firstly your community may have this within the Statute, so check with the President.

Hello El Oso,
Welcome to TalkQuesada. Hope you can get some help to your question on here.
I was just going to say the same as Glyn that it may be best to ask your Community President, in the first instance, what the procedures are for extensions. If the community rules do not show any objections then possibly the Town Hall could give you advice on planning permits. We have found the Quesada Town Hall very helpful for all kinds of advice and information and there are usually people in there who understand English quite well too. The Rojales town hall is good too but we've found that generally a bit more than 'un poco' of Spanish is needed there and we have come away more confused sometimes and the Quesada Town Hall has put us straight. We almost paid 70 euros for a certificate we thought we needed at Rojales town hall once but, because we didn't have a passport with us, we went the next day to Quesada and the guy there said we didn't need the certificate unless we were selling the house (nothing to do with planning permission but just shows what the language barrier can do).

Welcome El Oso (and I hope that you are a friendly one!!! )

Anything that is done on our community has to be OK'd with the president first - even before getting to the planning stage.

Hello Everyone
Thanks for the replies and the welcome (yes I am a friendly bear Sandra!)
The obvious thing would seem to be to speak to the president but we're just trying to get some more information before doing that. Apparently on our community if a vote is required it has to be unanimous which seems a little unfair to us. It's going to be a small extension (kitchen) and will genuinely not affect anyone apart from next door and directly opposite in a very minor way both of whom we have spoken to and they have no objections.
We hadn't thought of getting a copy of the community statutes so think we will start there.

We'll be visiting Quesada soon for a long weekend - looking forward to it - hope weather is good!!??
