. does everyone that rents there property out need the new rental licence?and register the renters with the policia on arrival,or is just people running a lettings business.
people who own a holiday home but rent it out when they are not there is that classed as needing a licence, were would one get the licence?

If you are advertising your holiday home for short term letting as opposed to letting friends and family use it then yes you need a holiday rental licence and to register with the civil guard for the guest register. There are several previous topics on the subject.

Yes, if it’s a short term let and you’re receiving money from the people renting the property then you need a licence.

AND KEY HOLDING €180.per year

i applied in april for a holiday let by registered post and have heard anything since is this usual Tiler

It depends on how many applications they have to process. We sent ours off in the March and received the licence in September. However our daughter who applied the year before us for her villa waited 12 months for her licence.
