Rental prices and areas ?

Rental prices and areas ?

Postby geetee61 » Sat Jan 25, 2020 11:49 am

Hi all, we have a villa booked for 8 weeks in the summer for my retirement holiday. Planning on using our time in Quesada to check out long term rentals for the English winter brrr ! With a view to a permanent move in the near future. Looking for a 2 bed bungalow/ townhouse but won’t rule out an apartment either. What kind of prices can I expect to pay for a 6 month rental and what areas would you recommend. My partner has had both knees replaced and while she is perfectly mobile she doesn’t like hills. We are staying in the Triangle area this summer and ideally would like a rental within walking distance to all amenities. Look forward to your replies. Cheers, Gaz.

May be a problem after Brexit re 6 months rental. Not sure how regulations will work.

Prices all over the place - Kyero a good starting point for choice but you need to be clear on what you want.

We’ll know more after 31st hopefully ? If we see the right property during the summer could be tempted to just go for it and buy.

From my past experience a rough rule of thumb is that a winter monthly rental is approximately the same as a week would be in high season for the same property ( assuming a 5/6 month rental. ) Sometimes plus bills. However as Jonno points out there may be some complications post December 2020 in a 6 month stay, just be aware of that in your planning.

Avoiding hills...(there's a lot of those here!)some nice 2/3 beds (semi-d types)around golf course, bottom of the hill, lots of bars, restaurants and a supermarket plus a level walk into Rojales. Bottom end of Benimar, ditto re easy walking reach of facilities and small slopes but before you start going uphill. Some nice places in Dona Pepa , Lo Marabou etc. Good you are here for 2 months to look around and see what you like best. If you are planning on moving permanently you should really think about making the move this year and get your residency paperwork etc before December. That way under the terms of the withdrawal agreement you will be guaranteed to have your rights to live here, get healthcAre etc. (assuming you are a state pensioner ) preserved. After December 2020 this is not certain. You don't have to have bought a house by then, but would need to have got a rental agreement in place and residency obtained etc..

I recommend near Marquesa golf course. Nice and flat, local supermarket and bars and restaurants (hopefully still open after lock down)
