Villa rentals none resededent

I am aware that you must obtain a rental Licence and display the Licence number visable on the villa. You must install smoke alarms and fire extinguisher Notify local police names of guests staying in rental weekly, 2 weekly. Submit taxes every 3 months. Is there anything more? Has Marcliff ever issued a difinitive document relating to this subject?

That is basically it, although I believe the first step, obtaining the tourist licence, is more difficult now. When we got ours a few years back we just filled in an application form and posted it to somewhere in Alicante, waited a few months for the licence and that was it. A neighbour started the process for a Quesada apartment last summer and it involved an architect coming out to assess the property and, I think, getting local permission from the town hall which we never had to do. He used a solicitor to organise it all and is still waiting. The guest notifications you refer to are actually to the Guardia Civil (based in Almoradí). Once you have your licence you go and register with them to get password access to their reporting system. So you have the process correct in simple form. We did it all ourselves and it just cost us a postage stamp, but now there is more involved you may be better getting an agent to organise it, especially if you are non-resident and not here so often.
