The article in Spanish press didn't mention that. It did say your records have been updated with your vaccination status and you will be called forward when due.

Since the normal flu season in Spain doesn't kick in until, normally, December then they will be getting around to everyone. They want to increase the 75% take up of the flu vaccine they normally achieve.

Which, as I said, is normal. Just last year they brought them forward a month because of covid and no vaccine against it.

Can you have the covid booster without having a flu jab? I have never asked for a flu jab during living in a hot country for 23 years. Slightly mixed emotions about starting or needing one now.

Maybe ask at the health centre if you get called forward.
I never had ah flu jab until 3 years ago. I went on a cruise and someone on the table had "a slight touch of something". Wife and I ended up on the sick bed in the cabin over Christmas after coming down with the slight touch of something. We then decided the flu vac might be a good idea.

About 8,000 people die of flu every year in Spain. Lot lower than N European countries but, after having to visit A&E in February a couple of years ago and seeing the patients on beds in corridors and ambulances pulling up every couple of minutes with flu cases we decided it was quite prudent to continue having the flu vac.

Thank you Marcliff. I alway listen to all comments, especially yours. I will think hard as to having both arms jabbed into the system where there is no previous flu protection. Just in case there is any conflict.

Do you know how you can get both the flu jab and the vaccine booster if you're on a private health insurance plan? I have had the flu jab each year in the UK since I was diagnosed with COPD but as I moved to Spain last October and not on the Spanish health system I didn't get one last year. I really could do with having borh jabs this year to be on the safe side.
