Can you get emergency home visits from a doctor in Quesada?

Can anyone tell me if you can get emergency home visits from the doctors (we are in Quesada).Thanks xx

You are joking arent you? This is Spain you know! If it is an emergency you can try calling an ambulance, but dont ever say it is something to do with the stomach! Say anything, but not that! Best thing really in an emergency is to drive the patient to Torrevieja hospital, not easy though if they cant walk from the car park! Make sure you take their blue European Health Insurance Card or SIP card if they have one.

Thanks for reply (not the sarcasm!). Wouldn't it be great if,when you first move abroad, you knew everything,about everything without having to ask for help or advice? Maybe you were lucky in that.

Hi,
I'm not sure but you could ask in the medical centre. I can't see why just because it"s Spain we should not "expect' similar healthcare to that which we would get in the UK.

Also I seem to remember, during the first couple of years of having our holiday home, that someone told us that one of their visitors had a very debilitating bout of food poisoning and they had called a doctor in - It may have been a private doctor as they probably had holiday/health insurance but it just goes to show that a doctor can possibly be called in, in certain circumstances.
