Contact with your Doctor

I have received a message today from my doctor at the salud in Doña Pepa, to inform me that from now all appointments must be made via the phone or in person not the website/app

Hi Anniep,
We had the same msg, I think it’s because the hospital ownership has changed.
I do hope they creat a new app as is was so easy making appointments and asking for repeat perscription,
And of course didn’t give the reception a headache with all the people queuing.

Me too....

I’ve had the same but it actually says the portal is closing so I assume it won’t be possible to ask for repeat prescriptions etc. I have sent a message back to check this

I don’t know if this helps, but my GP surgery in the UK stopped online appointment bookings at the start of the pandemic. I guess it was because of COVID, where people with symptoms might turn up at the surgery.
Now we have to phone up, hear we are between 10th and 18th in the call queue. An hour of so later, I speak to a receptionist who tells me there are no more appointments available. I then have to tell the receptionist what my problem is and I am then booked for a telephone call later from the doctor or a nurse, and to ‘wait by the phone’.
I hope you do not have the same problem!

Gp surgeries in the UK are much worse than here in Spain.

I have only just started to use the Spanish appointment system. It is far superior. On both occasions I was offered an appointment the next day.

In uk a wait of over 1 week was the norm
