Doctor's appointment-can anyone else help?

I went and renewed my padron on a day she was not available, so on my way home went into Lo Marabu Clinic / Health Centre and they did it for me there and then. She wanted to see my expired temporary SIP, my renewed padron and my EHIC card (the lady at the Town Hall doesn't ask to see EHIC Card),

I agree with others on here, as I know people that come for the whole winter, one in particular has regular blood tests as he is on Wolfarin and all he says is he is on holiday, tells them what he needs and shows his EHIC card for an appointment.

I really think this has been lost in translation and the Receptionist thought you wanted to "renew" your SIP card. I believe you can get a straightforward Doctor's appointment as a holidaymaker with your EHIC card.

Yes I think you are right. We are going back to Lo Marabu clinic tomorrow and this time I will say we're on holiday. Thanks Lindylou.

Just to update....we went to the clinic yesterday and husband got an appointment for this morning. Saw the doctor at 8:30 and fortunately I had written everything down in Spanish as the doctor had very little English. Anyway he prescribed antibiotics and said to come back in a week. The whole time taken for the appointment from leaving home to getting back was about 1/2 hour which is about how long we normally have just to wait once in the surgery in the UK for a pre-booked appointment, so well impressed.

Next week we will take an interpreter, so those of you who said we should were right, it makes life so much easier.

So thanks to all of you for your input, it really helped.

Yes we picked up a business card on the reception desk, there were several different interpreters to choose from.

Go to thr Drs at The Arches. They are very good and only costs 25 euros to see them.
