No Requirement for 2nd Jab

No Requirement for 2nd Jab

Postby Samfromcheshire » Tue Jun 29, 2021 10:37 pm

I have had a text messsge from the Sanidad telling me that I do not need a second jab and that my vaccination process is now complete.
I seem to remember someone posting something similar recently but I now cannot find the post.

I’m 60 years old and had the Astra Zeneca vaccine. I have two questions. Primarily, is this correct, am I now really fully vaccinated And secondly, how do I get onto the web based system that gives me a certificate to prove that I am fully vaccinated?

This all seems a bit strange to me.

Regards

Sam

AZ is a 2 jab vaccine, its much less effective with only 1. It is approved for 2 jabs . If in doubt speak to your health pro’s.

Not knowing what the full details are on this, it is odd that one dose of the AstraZeneca vaccine is being classed as a full course when it clearly isn't.

Firstly, have you been infected with the virus in the last 6 months? If so, there is a gap of 6 months between vaccines as the virus is classed as giving you antibodies and just one jab will give you the same immunity as having two if that is the case. (That's the way it works in Spain before I get told that's not the way it works in Ireland or UK).

Next, go onto the GVA (Valencian government) site and download the Valencian Community certificate of vaccinations. That will tell you what vaccines you had and when you had them. On the same site, click over and download the EU Covid passport (this is different to the Valencia one) which will show how many vaccines you've had and the date of the last one. For example, if you've had two it will say 2/2 and the date. The Valencian one will show both dates.

Valencian Certificate

On the one above, click the box Justificante Vacunal Covid-19 and fill in the details on the next page.
Once you've completed that and put the letters in to show you aren't a robot, they will send an SMS to the phone you have registered as contact details. Enter the code from the SMS and you will get the Valencia Cerificate.

Then, on the same link as above, come down a bit and click on the Covid EU certificate box. Again, follow the procedures and request the option for record of vaccination.

You can check from those certificates what you have had.
Now, if you have not had the virus yet still coming up as fully jabbed with only one vaccine, I suggest you contact the number given 900 300 555 to try and find out what the situation is.

If your Spanish is not up to it, maybe contact your health centre and explain the problem. They may be able to give you a fuller answer.

Thank you Marcliff.
I had the virus in Feb this year but so did my wife and she has her 2nd jab today. The only difference is that I had AZ and she is having Pfizer.
I will try the links that you sent to me.
Thank you again.

I agree. You do need 2 doses of A/Z.

As far as I knew Additional research is needed to understand longer-term potential protection after a single dose.

I’m not quite sure of my facts and I’m sure someone will correct me but, if you have already had Covid you have probably developed some antibodies so one jab is possibly enough. Glad you’re ok.
