Nolotil

Almost two years ago, I posted on here about how the painkiller Nolotil can affect people from UK and Ireland after an Irish man died after taking it.
My wife was prescribed this but I stopped her taking it once I'd read about it.

Now, as an update, this painkiller has been banned in Spain for prescribing to Brits.

About time too. I have been prescribed this many times and not taken it because of what I had read,

Unfortunately when I was in hospital it was used by drip that was replaced every 6 hours. At that time there were very mixed views amongst the Consultants, some saying it was ok to use for a couple of days and some agreeing with me that it should not be given to British people, I was so stressed because of the conflicting opinions, thankfully all was ok

Two weeks ago I was at Imed, Torrevieja and the British lady in front of me at reception was picking up a prescription for it, so this ban is good news

I’ve just been in hospital and refused to take it and had it put on my notes that it was bad for me. It is widely prescribed here.

Even dentists prescribe this for Brits and I assume Northern Europeans

Why can't Brits take it?

Still getting prescribed, and leading to deaths of patients. DO NOT ACCEPT NOLOTIL

I had 2 friends that died as a result of these tablets. I have it on my medical records that I’m allergic to it, but still always check if I am in hospital.
