PRIVATE MEDICAL COVER

Hi guys. I purchased a property in May 2018 in Guardamar and I have a question about PMI in Spain.

I pay sky high premiums to WPA back in UK although I have not put a claim through for nearly 20 years, in order to reduce the premiums (even to the current highly expensive level, as am I 65 years old) I have been increasing the share responsibility all the way to £5k.

I m looking for a basic PMI in Spain that will give me access to private doctor/treatment/tests - with
co-payment, if necessary - so that I can reduce the UK premium and keep the cover alive for only when/if I ever needed to receive serious surgery or cancer treatment.
At the same time I want peace of mind when I am in Spain on holiday - I will not change my residency! - so that if I am not well I can be seen without delay.

I had a great experience of two dentist whilst I was over in December. They saw me immediately , did the job for half of the UK private price and in a more hygienic comfortable environment. I think they were both great!
Anyone knows of Sanitas Healthplan for Euro 23pm or DKV Euro 38pm , or anything else similar ?
Can anyone recommend a professional , honest health insurance agency that could look at my case ?

Hi ...We use Salus........http://www.salus-seguros.com/ ..Maria comes with all your paperwork & goes through it all & there are no hidden paymenets..I believe there is a discount for paying for the year & also dental cover can be added! This is by far the best we have used since living here after my hubby did all the research...Like any PMI they don't necessarily cover pre existing conditions.....Good luck ..I hope you find this helpful..oh we have recommended to lots of friends & no there isn't any specials for that!!!

I do not think that what you are suggesting would work. If you take out private medical insurance in Spain, it will not cover you in the UK.
If you only come over here for holidays you could use your EHIC card for medical cover here. The medical centre in Quesada is excellent for healthcare and Torrevieja Hospital is very good and is now considered a University hospital. The downside can be waiting times for appointments in both the medical centre and the hospital. I don't mean how long you have to wait for an appointment but the waiting time when you arrive for your appointment. If you have a previous medical condition, that will not be covered by private healthcare and you would not be able to use the service until 6 months after you sign up.
