Salus healthcare

Salus healthcare

Postby Lynnjon » Sat Nov 28, 2020 10:52 am

We have just taken out private healthcare with Salus, can anyone recommend which dentist and chiropodist they use through this service. I’ve looked through their directory which is huge. Would like English speaking really as it’s easier. If anyone can give advice it would be most helpful. Thanks

I'm with Salus and, unless your policy is different to mine. the only dental cover is for a check up. After that you pay. My wife went for the "free" check up to Medicare in Benijofar and was advised she needed work costing 3000 euros. Sonia's dentist in Rojales did the work for 800. I don't think Sonia charges for just a check up either. Unless you've got actual dental cover in your policy, i'd be wary about choosing a dentist just because it's in Salus's directory.

I agree with you Gary...We have used Salus for about 5 years & can't fault them but I believe also that it only gives you a free check up (unless you pay extra for dental cover)We also use Sonias dental ...as for the chiropody again I would check as to what you are allowed "free" there again a chiropodist is only about 20€ ..also be aware as I believe you have to have had your policy for 6 months before everything is covered (obviously depending on what cover you have)..

I've just taken out a policy with Salus, including the extra dental cover. I haven't yet looked for a dentist but I did look on their website for a gp and it seems the nearest one is opposite Carrefour by Habaneros. Is that right?

I've only used a GP once, a couple of years ago, and I went to Dr Ballester, next to the arches, in Quesada. Medicare in Benijofar also has a GP service and that was also listed in the Salus directory (unless they've both been removed for some reason). I had physio recently at Clinica La Siesta and their GP service is in the directory and is nearer than the place near Carrefour. I don't think their website shows everything, for some reason.

Thanks garysl. I don't have the documents yet so I suppose I'll get a directory with all that.

I’m with Salus and see Dr Ballester at the arches. He’s really nice as are the two nurses who work there.

I'm familiar with Dr Ballester as he treated my husband when he had a problem with his hip but I couldn't find him on the Salus website so thanks for that Annette, most helpful.

Imed by Cinema opposite Habanaras and Quiron also have GP's covered by Salus.

If I think I might need scans or Xrays I see a GP at one of those as you can usually make appointment for tests there and then.
