annual medical health insurance for multi trips

Postby blackvelvet » Mon Feb 24, 2014 4:05 pm

Any one have experience of several pre existing medical conditions
Either can't get insurance or charging a lot.

If you are happy to give rough examples of pre existing conditions
So I can compare,
E.g I have irregular heart beat but never been hospitalised or passed out.
And two other ore existing conditions

Any hints tips or just how you got sorted out.
Thanks

Our friends with many pre-existing conditions did all the donkey work then told us who to try. We ended up with LV as they have done. We have pre-existing conditions. You can fill in their online questionnaire to get a quote.

We feel they're very reasonable for the two of us for multitrips annually with all conditions we have covered for up to 90 days per trip. The cheaper option is 30 days per trip, we stay much longer..up to the 90 days.

Very pleased with a quote from Liverpool Victoria and have booked this next years annual insurance with them - Direct Travel our usual annual insurer quoted £277 this year for two of us with pre-existing conditions (one with high blood pressure and coronary stent and one with Inflamatory bowel condition) but thought I would check out LV and the quote was £160 for Premier Annual insurance of up to 90 days travel at a time, which is even better than the 31 days with Direct Travel. I will compare again when renewing for next year but really pleased this time.

We also have our UK car and home insurance with LV which apparently gives a discount.

Here are 2 companies you can contact with regards to travel insurance, which include health cover, both are UK based but specialise in expatriate cover, you can contact them with regards to pre-existing conditions and depending what they are will depend whether they can cover them, or perhaps offer you a policy including everything else except that condition.

Hi if you go with Virgin and don't mind excluding pre existing you can get it for around £25 PA for emergencies you can be treated with your European health card.

If you live in Spain, ensure that any travel insurance policy is aware of that. If you take out a policy designed for UK based people you could have problems in the event of a claim and the insurance could be voided. Also if you need assistance in returning home, home would be classed as the UK and not Spain.
