Car insurance recommendations
Car insurance recommendations

Ok, so the car insurance renewal will be coming up soon. I have read negative reports on insurers such as linea directa, liberty seguros and generali not paying out under a geniune claim or at least making it as difficult and throwing as much stress your way as possible. I can testify my own experience with caser who you can never get hold of, and when you do, they charge you on a premium number when you need them the most. They unfortunately are the most competitive but now it's time to move on and ditch their extremely rubbish none existent customer service.
Can anyone recommend any GOOD companies that will actually give you the peace of mind you pay for and that are very competitive whether that is a broker or otherwise? Or are all insurers the scoundrels of the earth as i have been led to feel?
It would also be good for companies that can handle the quote via email instead of refusing to do anything unless they have a telephone number.
I have heard about the likes of jenifercuningham and rightmove but found them very expensive in comparison with my current policy.
Thanks in advance.

For some reason my reply was deleted so i'll try again!
I have a o2 uk pay & go phone from which i'm using to call them. It rings twice then disconnects. I spent a hour chatting with o2 customer service who insist that they simply do not block you from calling any specific numbers. I have repeatedly emailed Caser to tell them i cannot get through and to ring me. All i get in response is a standard message to ring them (in Spanish even though they are the expatriates line). This has been happening since Friday. I feel like banging my head against a bloody wall. They are the only company in the world that i have called in Spain and elsewhere which doesn't accept calls from me. To add insult to injury, their "call me back" feature doesn't work as it only allows you to put in 10 out of the 11 characters needed from a UK phone number. All this along with the same run around i had when my windscreen broke tells me they are the worst insurance company in the world. A complete shambles of a company who i would urge people to avoid at all costs.

For car insurance I find Ibex insurance very good and helpful. I recently had a claim against me which I would have happily paid for without going through the insurance; however Ibex/Lloyds handled it all for me and paid out no problem and I haven't paid any excess (yet) New insurance has just started today and Ibex even managed to get me a small discount from my new price to put it inline with a competitor. Cannot fault the girls in the Quesada office, and highly recommend them.

Unlike others you've referenced, I would recommend Liberty Seguros (I insured with Direct Line in the UK, but find Linea Directa in Spain is much more expensive).
I have both my wife's and my vehicle insured with Liberty Seguros: despite her brand new car being rear-ended the day after she picked it up from the showroom and not following the correct procedure because she hadn't received their handbook, she simply provided the other driver's details and photos of the two cars in situ and LS sorted this out with the other party's insurer, no quibble at all.
Similarly, when my car was hit in a car park in Elche, LS authorised my repairs and claimed the costs back from the other party, no delay, no quibble.
I bought our insurances through Jennifer Cunningham brokers in Benijofar and agree with jpeg that a good broker is a must. I've recently gone out for renewal quotes and a different broker gave me quotes that were 20% more expensive than Jennifer Cunningham - with the same insurance company!

Speak to Donna at Right Move Insurance next to the Chop Shop in Cuidad Quesada she takes the time & effort to search several and get the best deal for each customer & they will contact the Ins co. On your behalf if required.
We now use them for car, home & holiday insurance having tried several others who turned out to be a waste of time. Good luck.

Jan, i am not sure how you deem that i am always trying to stir things up. That's not the case at all. How is asking a question trying to stir things up?
My post has everything to do with car insurance recommendations as that is what i am seeking. Maybe i should have put 'wanted' at the end.
And the moderator isn't always deleting my posts but i do find that sometimes, as is the case with this, the post gets moved. This post was under the insurance section of the website, which correct me if i am wrong, is the right place for it. So why now has it been moved to general discussion?
