Looking for a good legal representative near Quesada

Postby sheriff » Sun Mar 15, 2015 11:05 am

HI, i'm a newbie but have been reading through the forum for ages. I have read through the bits i can find concerning legal reps in Quesada, but need a bit more info. We are in the process of buying a repo property through an agent in Torrevieja. We are right at the the start of the process and the agent hasn't suggested to use their legeal reps yet, and the advice here seems to be to use somebody independant anyway. Can anybody suggest a good legal rep on or around Quesada to deal with the process, and give any feedback on them and contact details please. I've read people suggesting Philomena, but i can't find any details for her, and when i search online i can only really find TLAcorp spanish lawyers.

Any help greatly appreciated, i'm sure this will only be the first of many questions coming.

Can I suggest you use the UK government website, Consulate details will give you information on who they (UK) Government use in the South Costa area.

From the list you can opt for one of your choice .

Take your time ,good luck.

Hi sheriff,

We used Fontanals solicitors who have an office in Torrevieja and also in Lo Marabu (near Consum & Lidl)). They dealt with our property purchase from start to finish and made sure
our anual taxes, suma, etc are all paid on time. We certainly haven't had reason to complain so far.
Telephone: +34 965 712 453 (Torrevieja) 966 731 353 (Lo Marabu) [email protected] www.fontanals-solicitors.com

We have used Abaco, who are based in Torrevieja, since buying our property in Quesada 10 years ago and we also use them to do all our Spanish Taxes for a reasonable annual fee. We have had no probs with them and they are very accessible on line with a good website and virtual office.

Hope this helps to give you an idea.

thanks guys, its just such a nervous and exciting time. This is our first time buying abroad so we are not sure about any of the things we are doing. It's always reassuring to hear people's experiences. I think we'd like to use a solicitor in Quesada just for the ease of access being local

Filomena Rufete is excellent. She is just opposite the Jumerca supermarket in central Quesada. Her phone number is 966718830. She doesn't speak English herself but has two assistants Pilar and Christina who do

We have also used Filomena for our purchase 7 years ago. Recently we bought our co owners out and again used them. At the time we checked out the procedure with other companies and found that Filomena gave us the best advice. Also their costs were comparable and in some cases cheaper than others.

Just like to say that whoever you decide to use I think it's pretty important, especially if it's a holiday home, to have a Solicitor/Fiscal representative who corresponds by email in English.

When you are in the UK and need to ask questions it's so much easier to use email to sort things out, rather than making expensive phone calls.

When I was choosing a Solicitor in the early days I asked for information and prices for services, of a few different companies, by email and this gave a good indication of their grasp of English and also how efficient they were at responding. A good website is helpful too - Personally I would not use any Solicitor company that didn't have a decent website with all their information on and also a Clients area which is very helpful, especially if you use them to sort out all the Annual Spanish taxes for you, as all your tax payments will be shown there.

Good luck.
