Can you believe the stupidity of some people!! Even down to abusing the lifeguards!

Nineteen swimmers rescued in two hours[/b] By Louise Clarke

WITH THE wind whipping up the surf along the coast during the last few days, beaches up and down the Alicante province installed red flags as a precaution; meaning that bathers were forbidden from entering the sea.

Now you would think that these very visible warnings of danger would be quite easy to adhere to but apparently not and incredibly, in the space of just TWO hours last weekend, nineteen people had be rescued from the sea off the La Mata beach in Torrevieja.
It has also been reported that some of the lifeguards have been insulted and even physically attacked by bathers after preventing them from entering the sea.
