Thanks Jan. My wife and I met with Abaco yesterday and have appointed them as our tax advisors. It was so refreshing to meet with people who understand how important customer service is!
As well as the crucial matter of submitting our Spanish tax returns, they cleared up something which I think causes confusion - the terminology used of "voluntary" payments of our taxes, e.g. IBI. I've spoken to people who think this means they don't have to pay it! But when SUMA refers to the "voluntary" period, they actually mean any time between the issue of the bill and the deadline for payment. After that date, you still have to pay it, but you'll also have to pay a fine for late payment.
