DOES anybody know what is the maximum prescriptions a Doctor will prescribe. I wish to go away for 3 months, apart from getting somebody to collect on my behalf, is there an answer

So are we, the question IS will my doctor PRESCRIBE 3 MONTHS in ONE prescription, so we can go away

3 months is the max that my GP would prescribe but when we got here we found that all our meds could be bought over the counter (blood pressure etc). If you know anyone in Spain, give them the name of your medications and get them to ask at a pharmacy. The rules about selling prescription drugs are very different here. You might be lucky, ( we were )

The maximum prescription an English prescriber can issue is usually for 12 months (controlled drugs are 28 days). This is commonly used for contraceptive tablets. We often get prescriptions for people going
on holiday for 3 months and dispense them in the uk before they leave. Depending on your surgery policy there should be no problem obtaining most medicines prescribed if you explain the reason when you request your repeat prescription

As far as I know, if you want prescripciones before the due date, you have to pay for them, keep your reciepts, and Claim the money back when you return, with the reciepts.
