English TV Programmes

Postby aljen20 » Mon Feb 03, 2020 4:44 pm

Hi all, sincerely hope someone can help! Bought a new Smart TV and engineer came to set it up and now have over 100 channels with several English including BBC 1 & 2 and ITV but he couldn’t install channels 4,5 and more 4, our most watched channels! All we ask is theses 3 remaining channels but have been told by our supplier Telfy that they can’t supply them. Does that sound correct to you guys and if so would you advise us changing supplier and if so to which supplier? Sorry about so many questions but Telfy were recommended by the estate agent and we have only been here 4 months and still trying to get our heads around how things work here. Look forward to a few replies and thanks in advance

If you have internet, try getting a fire stick that will allow you to load all the hubs etc.
Or get a dish installed for a one off payment and have Freesat.

Hi, we receive channel 4, 5, more 4 etc through “Go Fibra” not sure whether they are available yet in your location, maybe worth asking at their showroom in Quesada? They are expanding their fibre coverage very quickly.

The fact that you bought the tv here likely means you're set up to receive the Spanish equivalent of Freesat (via a small dish) or Freeview (via a terrestrial antenna) and those are the only English channels available on it.

If so and if you want more then you'll have to go either for a Sky setup or IPTV.

Is this the TV package that Telfy sell with their fibre broadband? It's usually free for the first 12 months, then €10 per month after in addition to your monthly broadband fee.
For the extra channels and to save the €10 per month, you could install a satellite dish (1.4M min) or use IPTV.
You can get all the free to air UK channels via the internet... iplayer, TV Hub etc but you'll need a VPN or DNS proxy to circumvent any Geo-Blocking (google).

Yip, Telfy limited as you say.
We have been with them almost two years, About to change to Vega Fibra, cheaper and approx 40 British channels.

My understanding is Telfly mainly supply spanish TV channels. I use Telecable where you’ll get the channels you want. They are based in La Siesta.

We are thinking of moving away from telecable as the programmes are always breaking up.
