Golf options

Postby Alz1960 » Thu Mar 04, 2021 7:46 pm

I am moving to Quesada at some point this year and I’m a keen golfer. We are looking in the area of the Le Marquesa golf club which we looked at last year. Is it better to join a club or are there societies to join which play various clubs in the area?
Cheers

There are loads of societies in the area which will play a variety of golf courses around the Costa Blanca once a week it really depends on how many times a week you are looking to play but you could look at around 45 euros to play with a society, courses are more expensive than the Uk for membership and a rough idea is about 2to 2.5 thousand euros a year and about 2 to 5 euros each time you play. I would suggest you look at some societies and get a feel for the courses and you can then see if you like the courses and decide then.

There are to many to list if you do a google search for golf societies in and around Quesada, you will find a few bars will run societies, some societies will want you to have a handicap and some don’t like I say there are many, one which has been going for many years in San Miguel Golf Society, and I agree La Marquesa is not worth the visit.

I would not rule La Marquesa out. I don't know when the other contributors last played it but it has had a major revamp in the last year with several interesting new holes and is not as bad as it used to be. Not on the level of las colinos but not on their price level either.

I’m coming over at the end of May so will have a good look at all the courses. One of the villas Im looking at overlooks La Marquesa and I could walk to the course which would enable my wife to have the car. That’s the main reason I was thinking golf joining there plus the fact I would like to play 3 to 4 times per week. Although saying that the societies sound a good day out so I will probably join one of them too.
