Just wanted to say hi to you all I am currently looking for a property in Spain with my partner . Have been drawn to the Quesada area and have booked a couple of viewings for next month. What is it like to live here ? How popular is it with tourists ? Any down sides to living here ? Would be great to hear from you , any info would be greatly received, thank you

Hello. Everyone is different of course.
For me, I have lived here 14 years and I love it. Just remember this is Spain so they do things their way and it won't change. Bring plenty of patience with you and enjoy the ride.
Good luck, it's worth it.

Thank you for the reply , it’s good to know as much as possible. It’s all so many emotions, excitement ,apprehension ,doubt and of course having the confidence to step into the unknown. Life is for living right , one chance and you will never know unless you try .

We have had a second home in Quesada for nearly 20 years and are planning on taking up residence next year. It is a great place to live. We consider it as much home as our place in the UK.
I would recommend buying somewhere within walking distance of the bars and restaurants. The main clusters being the main 'drag' and then Avenida Las Naciones and Dona Pepa. So, depending on your budget, somewhere around La Vida sunset bar would be ideal from where you can walk to a variety of restaurants - Spanish, Italian, Chinese, Indian Bistros and and English pubs & in five minutes or less. And the main drag is only 15-20 minutes away. We live just behind Avenida de Las Naciones and don't ever feel the need to venture to the main drag as we have all we need five minutes away.
In addition Quesada is served by 2 airports and is only a 10 minute drive from the beaches. If you like cycling there's plenty of routes locally. As well as many local hill walks.
We think we chose well when be bought here.

I must admit we have a good feeling about his place. We are looking to rent out the apartment for a holiday let , also to purchase for us to reside too. My partner is an excellent and very reliable carpenter, plumber and electrician ,so will be looking for work too. What is the need for this line of work, especially amongst the ex-pats ?

Hi Zeberdee yes Quesada is a great place to live weve been here coming up for 12 years so something must be right but we would advise you to maybe come out first for a few months on long term rental to get the feel of the place as if your renting its easy to move if your not happy with the area or your neighbours or how far u have to walk to shops bars restaurants etc, Also depending how fit you are as some places have lots of stairs & if your carrying shopping or goods it can soon become a bore. Quesada is like any other town theres good parts & bad parts & good & bad neighbours as well. As for work there is work about but its done mainly by builders who sub let some of the work but u have to be known so its better seeing a Lawyer is it can be complicated to do these days.
