Long term rental required

Long term rental required

Postby Candy » Fri Jan 11, 2013 3:15 pm

Hello, I wonder if anyone an help us out, myself & my husband are looking for a south facing property to rent long term in Quesada, we are quite flexible regarding the area, we have moved to Quesada permanently but really need a property that you get the winter sun. Ideally we would like a 3 bed property, either a villa townhouse/Lola, a private pool is not essential but would consider!

Please PM me if you know of anyone who is considering to rent out, we can get a reference from the agency we are using just now.

Many thanks.

I was told that a west facing property is better for winter sun.

It really does depend on what you want. The Summer does get incredibly hot and a shady terrace at times like that can be extremely desirable and if the sun is beating down relentlessly on the porch it can make the house extra hot. However, in the cooler winter months it's nice to have sunshine on the terrace. I personally would not want my front door or back door terrace to be fully South facing and enjoy a bit of proper shade in Summer, an umbrella doesn't feel cool enough to me.

I would say east facing is good for winter sun as you will get it first thing in the morning.

Yes winter sun is good but it also depends on the house and what 'facing' means. In the UK we say South facing meaning the back garden but in Spain the houses are all different, some have gardens just at the front and/or side and some have back and front gardens or terraces, so it's best to check what part of the house they mean by south or East facing. Many houses have a roof sun terrace whereby it doesn't really matter what way the house is facing as the sun will be on the roof terrace somewhere at any time of the year and if a house has back and front terraces the same thing probably applies.
